History: El Kadi was a remarkable student at Starfleet Academy, graduating with honors as second of his class. His following career was well successed until the point when he served at the USS Bismark under Cap. Gunthrie. The commanding officer held El Kadi responsible for a failed mission at Suraco III that costed the life of three crewmembers, including the Captain's lover. Although he did not have any evidence of El Kadi's negligence, Cap. Gunthrie used his influence to create difficulties for El Kadi's career advancement. Even so, he was able to be assigned as Science Officer at the USS Belisarius and was latter picked by Cap. Weygand, whom he had previously known at the Academy, to be First Officer of the USS Yamato. During his tenure at the USS Yamato, El Kadi, with Cap. Weygand's support, was able to collect undisputable evidence of his inocence in the Suraco III incident. This, and his excellent record at the USS Yamato, was sufficient to help Cap. Weygand convince Starfleet Command of their unfair treatment to El Kadi in the past, and forced them to make amendments, promoting El Kadi to the rank of Commander and giving him the Command of the Deep Space 7 Station.
