MEGS Conversion Notes for Unisystem
Quick and dirty conversion rules for the Mayfair Exponential Game System used in the old DC Heroes RPG. The DC write-ups in this site were converted, using these notes, from the ones in that game's 2nd edition.
Have fun!
ATTRIBUTES
These section deals only with MEGS' Physical
and Mental Attributes. I didn't create any conversion rules for Mystical Attributes
because they are a measure of personality (Qualities in Unisystem) and magical
power. I thought these would best be dealt in a case-by-case basis. When I come
up with something interesting, I'll post them. Meanwhile, if you have any ideas,
drop me a line.
Wealth is n Attribute in the DC Heroes RPG. To
convert it, just subtract 4 from the Wealth rating. The resulting number is
the Resource level of the character.
Example: Clark Kent has Wealth 6, which converts to Resources 2 (6 - 4 = 2).

ADVANTAGES & DRAWBACKS
Not all MEGS' Advantages and Drawbacks
have a Unisystem's counterpart. Below, you will find those that have. I also
tried to translate a couple of Advantages and one Drawback to Unisystem.

*New Quality/Drawback
Omni-Contact 10-point Quality
This Quality functions exactly like
Omni-Connection, allowing a character to have potential Contacts nearly everywhere.
By paying an amout of experience points equal to the level of the Contact, the
character can suddenly call on this new "friend" during the adventure.
This Contact is temporary and can only be questioned once. If the character
wishes to question the Contact further or at a later time, he must pay the experience
point fee again.
Famous/Infamous 3-point Quality or Drawback
A Famous character is respected among the citizenry
and the media. He attracts a huge crowd of well wishers and autograph seekers
wherever he appears. This Quality also gives a +3 bonus to every Task or Test
where the character's popularity would be a factor.
The Infamous Drawback is the negative version
of the Quality. The character is often mistaken for a villain by law enforcement
agencies and other heroes. Other heroes do not trust him and he is usually a
fugitive from justice.
SKILLS
MEGS' broad skills convert into one
or more Unisystem skills. The table below lists both Lite and Full skills. In
the latter case, I took the liberty of adding new skills and renaming others
that would probably be needed in a superhero game. Unisystem skill levels are
the same as MEGS'.
Example: Booster Gold has Martial Artist 5 and Scientist 4. In Full Unisystem, that translates into Martial Arts 5 and Science (Type) 4. In the Lite version, they would be Martial Arts 5 and Science 4.
